Dilliard's to carry Boomerpreneur's invention

Dillard’s Department Store has announced plans to carry a new type of travel bag called the “giZmo”. The wearable fashion organizer is the creation of retired Realtor Jean Newell of Melbourne. Newell says her designer bags have a number of compartments to hold a variety of small items and should come in handy for men and women ---especially those who are traveling by plane. “Instead of having to store your personal and valuable items in a carry-on bag or have them checked at the airport, you can keep them close to you in your giZmo,” according to Newell. Another product created by Newell, known as The PUP (Personal Utility Pouch) was featured on the QVC Shopping Network and became one of their most popular items. Newell is one of a growing number of baby boomers who left Corporate America to start their own businesses and become Boomerpreneurs. For the past ten years adults ages 55 to 64 have been the group most likely to start a new business, according to a study released by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, which promotes entrepreneurship. Newell will be visiting Dillard’s corporate headquarters in Little Rock, Arkansas the week of August 25 to tour their facilities and attend their vendor orientation school. Newell’s giZmo bags will go on sale in the Florida Dillard’s Department Stores in the coming months.
